The Melbourne Mavericks have vowed to “ do things our own way” after locking in the name, logo and colours of the newest team in Super Netball. The Mavericks replace the defunct Collingwood Magpies who withdrew from the competition at the end of a tumultuous 2023 season.
New coach Tracey Neville said the name “means business” and the new team did as well. “The thought process behind our new brand is awesome, it has impact, sells our story and speaks loudly about the staff and players we want to attract to be part of our family,” she said.
