Japanese-inspired Belgrave Heights dream for sale
A Japanese-inspired house designed to “sit on the water” hovers by an infinity pool among the trees of Belgrave Heights.
The three-level home was influenced by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater house, which was famously built over a waterfall.
Chandler & Co Real Estate director Glenn Chandler said the 106 Mt Morton Rd home’s glass and brick structure made it one of the most striking residences in the area.

“It’s a really tranquil, peaceful spot, and they’ve built it in keeping with the environment,” Mr Chandler said.
“It’s designed like an Asian home to sit on the water.
“The vendors have fully renovated it over the last year, and they actually bought it 10 or so years ago (from me) sight unseen,” Mr Chandler said.
And the agent might have to sell it the same way if Melbourne’s lockdown continues.
“It’s had good early response, but I haven’t really been able to go through it much because of restrictions,” he added.
Large windows enhance both indoor and outdoor living, in addition to framing “picture-perfect sunset views”.
Glowing green lighting surrounds the lagoon-style pool, hot tub and adjoining timber deck.
Inside, each one of the three bedrooms features built-in wardrobes and their own private balconies.
Ms Chandler said he anticipated interest from Melbourne families who were looking to secure “their own slice of privacy and seclusion”.
“I’ve been dealing with a lot of buyers from Fitzroy and Northcote who are looking to move into the area,” he added.
“It’s got views back towards the city and you can still commute to the CBD if you need to.”
